MOTORS, we met the crew in Jakarta last year for World Brewers Cup. After several visits in Paris, we deeply respect the work they do at the cafe, on the competition stage, and the immense dedication to their craft and excellence.
It only made sense when we planned to be in the area again to create this collaboration and we are excited to be able to release this beautiful coffee with them.
The Falda plot sits on a slope within Volcán Barú National Park, inside a protected old-growth cloud forest at elevations up to 1800 meters. Cold nights and persistent fog extend the cherry ripening window by weeks. That prolonged development concentrates sugars gradually, producing a structural complexity that's inseparable from where these trees grow.
Cherries are hand-picked at full maturity and fermented whole in their pulp for 30 to 40 hours. Temperatures at Elida stay between 13 and 20°C throughout the process, keeping fermentation slow and controlled. After pulping and washing, the coffee moves into cold room drying, a climate-controlled environment that eliminates the variability of ambient drying. Moisture loss is gradual and consistent, preserving the clarity the washed process builds toward.
What's in the bag is the direct result of that chain: exceptional terroir, unhurried fermentation, and a drying method that protects rather than adds. Clean, precise, and fully expressive of what Gesha at this altitude can be.
