Before he was an award-winning coffee producer, Huver Castillo was a high school math teacher in Nariño. His return to his family’s farm, Finca El Paseo, wasn't just a career change, it was a calculated response to a crisis. When global coffee prices plummeted in 2014, Huver realized that traditional farming couldn’t sustain his family's livelihood.

Applying a teacher’s discipline and an engineer's precision, Huver spent years studying fermentation protocols. He transformed his father’s traditional land into a laboratory for specialty processing, eventually exporting his first specialty-grade harvest in 2018. Today, he works alongside his father, Don Isidro, proving that innovation can protect tradition.
